Hello, and thank you for visiting PureJewel.
We are a private cattery in Tokyo, Japan, dedicated exclusively to Maine Coons.
I have spent more than twenty years living with and caring for dogs and cats, and that life has shaped who I am today.
Before focusing on Maine Coons, I also shared my life with many breeds, including Toy Poodles, Standard Poodles, Border Collies, German Shepherds, Miniature Schnauzers, and Miniature Dachshunds.
Even so, the impression Maine Coons left on me was unforgettable.
Their noble presence, affectionate temperament, impressive size, and gentle charm drew me in deeply.
Even now, the more I learn about this breed, the more I feel there is still so much to appreciate and study.
Today, PureJewel specializes exclusively in Maine Coons, with careful attention to health, temperament, beauty, and overall balance.
We continue to refine our environment and daily care with dedication, experience, and genuine respect for each life in our care.
We are always happy to answer questions about daily life with cats or about our Maine Coon kittens.

Our Environment
In April 2021, we renovated our space to create a comfortable, refined, and spacious environment where our cats can truly relax and thrive.
Air purifiers operate throughout the cattery around the clock to help maintain a clean indoor environment.
We also improved ventilation with infection prevention in mind and created a safer, more comfortable space for daily life.
With cat steps and vertical areas for movement, our cats can enjoy the kind of exercise and stimulation that suits the Maine Coon breed.
We believe social development is just as important as physical care.
For that reason, kittens are not raised only with their parents and littermates.
After their first vaccination, they also spend time with other trusted cats in the home, allowing them to gradually build confidence and social skills in a gentle family environment.
Through daily interaction, observation, and patient care, our kittens grow into affectionate and emotionally rich companions.
Our goal is to raise kittens in an environment where cleanliness, safety, and love are all treated as essential.
Health and Hygiene
To help protect the health of our kittens, we ask visitors to sanitize their hands before meeting the cats.
We place strong importance on hygiene and health management, and we do our best to maintain a safe and carefully managed environment.
At the same time, cats are living beings, and no breeder can honestly promise a life entirely free from illness or injury.
We kindly ask future families to understand that, in addition to the purchase price, daily care expenses and routine veterinary costs are also a natural part of life with a cat.
PureJewel works closely with a trusted veterinarian who has supported us for many years.
If a kitten shows any concerning signs while in our care, we consult the veterinarian promptly and arrange examination or treatment as needed.
We take veterinary communication seriously and always place the kitten’s wellbeing first.
Our standards are based not only on legal compliance, but also on our own additional values: a calm living environment, a limited number of litters, and thorough hygiene management.
We can also provide information about pet insurance that may begin on the day of handover.
If you have questions about coverage or enrollment, please feel free to ask.
To reduce the risk of infectious disease for our kittens, we kindly ask visitors not to tour multiple catteries on the same day and not to visit pet shops before coming to us.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

We also participate regularly as grooming models for animal vocational schools.
Some of the cats raised at PureJewel have gone on to appear in magazines, major company calendars, and pet product advertisements.

For us, showing is not only about titles, but also about deepening our understanding of the breed and continuing to improve responsibly.
Our Approach to Pricing
We receive many questions about pricing, so we would like to explain our basic perspective clearly.
The price of a kitten may vary depending on several factors, including color, pedigree, sex, overall type, temperament, coat quality, and structure.
In more detailed terms, evaluation may also include features such as ear placement, tail length, profile, lynx tips, and whether the kitten is more suitable as a show prospect or as a pet companion.
However, we hope families will look beyond the visible price alone.
Living with a cat naturally involves ongoing costs such as food, litter, climate control, daily care, veterinary visits, and neutering or spaying at the appropriate time.
Illness or injury can also happen, as with any living being.
Each kitten is raised through daily care, environmental investment, nutrition management, careful pedigree planning, and many unseen efforts behind the scenes.
We would be glad if families also recognize the quiet, continuous work that supports each kitten’s healthy growth.
Please also note that Japanese legal standards limit the number of animals that staff may manage responsibly.
When timing and litter overlap require adjustment, some kittens may occasionally be offered at a more approachable price in order to remain fully compliant with proper care standards.
